NOTE: NPN transistors were added to invert output compare units outputs and to overcame +3.3 V to +5 V conversion problem on K8055-1 experiment board. Power supply lines were doubled to provide more current to the experiment board for better A/D conversion.

And what you get? PIC32MZ2048ECH100 is a 32-bit microcontroller with MIPS core that runs internally at 200 MHz with 512 kB RAM and 2 MB or flash RAM. There are also a number of specialized 32-bit internal functional units to support various external hardware. Not to mention up to 48 analog inputs...

Velleman K8055-1 experiment board has some simple analog hardware that may be useful for experimenting with different microcontrollers. Though it was originally designed only for PIC16C745 microcontrollers, one can hardly believe how simple it is to make PIC32MZ2048ECH100 100-pin PIM basic circuit adapter. Only a few resistors and 2 NPN and 2 MOSFET transistors are needed to connect PIC32MZ2048ECH100 100-pin PIM to Velleman K8055-1 circuit.
