A NEW COG TRANSMISSION REPLACES THE CHAIN TRANSMISSION

PC USB Projects LEGO Robot was upgraded with more reliable cog transmission. It is relatively simple to replace the drive chan with a single large enough cog. You also don't have to worry about the drive shaft rotation direction or gear ratio. They both remain the same regardless the new cog size, because the gear ratio is x/y * y/x = 1. Where x is diameter of the cogs that used to drive the chain and y is the diameter of the inserted intermediate cog. The hardest part is making of the intermediate cog mounts.

The next hurdle is preventing the cogs from slipping out of the alignment during high stress of the transmission. This is accomplished by adding a vertical fixation bracket over all the cogs axles. The fixation bracket is fixed by a new rim of the cabin at the top and with a wheel and a red conus sleeve at the bottom.
