Material in the archives generally does not circulate, except under rare circumstances.
Outgoing loans must always be approved in writing by the archivist. Borrowers must agree to return the material by a set date, in the same condition and order in which they received it. If the borrower is planning to exhibit an item from the Archives, they must demonstrate that the conditions under which it will be shown are adequately secure against theft and environmental damage such as excessive heat, humidity or UV light.
Unless a more comprehensive form is provided by the borrower (for example, a detailed loan form provided by a museum), borrowers must also sign the loan agreement form:
