Probably! Sources of information include:
The Pacific University Catalogue (also called the Bulletin):
Contains the names of each student who attended Pacific University and Tualatin Academy from about 1867-1930s, as well as the names of professors, administrators and trustees. This is the only reliable source of information about who attended Pacific and when, for pre-1940s. Neither the Alumni Office nor the Registrar's Office maintains pre-1940s student records.
Includes the name of each student, which class they were in, which degree program they were in, and (usually) their home town; for professors it usually includes their degrees, what they and what they taught.
Access:
1863-2007: bound volumes are shelved above Eva's desk
1868-1921: most issues are also available online via HathiTrust
2008+: digital versions are linked on the Past Catalogs page of pacificu.edu
The Alumni Directories on the shelves underneath the plaster eagles.
Provides directory information about students who attended Pacific between the 1930s-1990s. Because these were intended to be contact/address books, they only included students who were still alive when the directory was published.
Includes: student names; year of graduation; address as of the date when the directory was published; and cross-references to maiden names for women alumni of students
This is a good first place to look for information when all you have is a name, but no other information about years of attendance, etc. Once you know which years a student attended, you can move on to other sources like the Catalogue, Yearbook, etc.
The Heart of Oak, aka the Yearbook, shelved in the back storage room
Yearbooks exist for most years in between the 1910s-1970s. Before and after those years, they are patchy. No yearbooks were published after the mid-1990s.
Use the Directories or the Catalogue to find the years when the student/professor attended; then use the Yearbook to get a photograph. The sports and clubs pages may give additional information or photos.
The Index, aka the Newspaper, shelved near the door to the Archives
Covers 1896-present
Best source of information on sports, parties, fraternity/sorority activities and other events. The newspaper is not indexed, so you will need to know an approximate date, and then check through manually.
Other sources
Historic Images on WashingtonCountyHeritage.org: Good chance of finding images of students and alumni from about 1860-1910; also fairly good for the 1940s-1960s. Poor coverage after 1970.
Archival collections: Check ArchivesSpace. Former faculty are likely to have original records related to them somewhere in our collection. Students are less likely to be represented.
Biographical files: Some students/faculty have a biographical reference file in the file cabinets.
Ancestry.com : This is a paid subscription database. Eva has a personal account and can look up information such as birth and death dates, places of residence, etc.
