Hello all,
I have found out that Jim Langstraat's office handles the insurance policies so Johanna Karnes is the best contact.
Johanna has given me the following information that she received from the insurance company:
I just heard from our insurance contact who said that any time there is a donation, that needs to be added to the University’s coverage, we would just need an email from you or the department (copying you), with the details of the item, value and where it will be located. You would want to make sure myself or Jim are copied so that the Insurance company knows you we are aware of the change and give authority to add.

Please add the following:
Antique Maps
Value $500,000 (just a figure)
Located in Marsh Hall archives
Donated by John Smith on x date
To get coverage based on actual cash value (w/depreciation) having Eva give our Insurance Company an estimated cost would be ok but in order to get guaranteed value (without depreciation) the carrier would need to get a formal appraisal.
Thanks everyone,
Michelle
