KEY OBJECTIVES: Identifying and applying figurative language and other poetic devices, Analytical Reading, Formal Writing
Term two is going to go by VERY quickly. Basically, we'll be addressing one major concept here: Figurative Language and Poetic Devices. To do this, we'll be tackling several in class activities all pushing toward your final project... the PACA.Â
Here's the basic breakdown of the term two assignments:
1. PACA: This is our Poetry Analysis and Creation Assessment. We will do several activities leading up to this project. Each will prepare you to apply your understanding of figurative language and poetic devices. The PACA will be the final chance for you to demonstrate what you know.
2. IRA 2: This is round two of this particular assignment. Same song. New verse. See term one for more specific instructions.
3. Summative 2: This is our next district assessment. It will be all about analyzing poetry. For a good practice round, try to fill out as many of these sonnet pages as necessary.
Have a great day. Make wise decisions!
