GPAY Wallet Registration & Payment Process
1. What is GPAY?
GPAY, a payment solution for an increasing range of essential services, is a system from which you can draw money from your bank account and pay for important services in your everyday life. All you will need is a mobile.
2. What is a GPAY Wallet?
GPAY Wallet is designed for GP customers, which allows customers to pay their utility bills, FlexiLoad to own or other GP numbers or purchase train tickets through the wallet. After successful GPAY Wallet registration a customer can avail services mentioned below through GPAY Wallet if –
§ BillPay Service
§ Train Ticketing
§ Airtime top up/FlexiLoad to his/her own mobile (Both Postpaid and Prepaid)
§ Airtime recharge/FlexiLoad to other GP mobile (Both Postpaid and Prepaid)
But to avail these services customers need to refill/recharge GPAY Wallet from nearby MobiCash Retailers.
3. How can a customer open a GPAY Wallet?
Customers can easily open a GPAY Wallet –
a. By themselves by simply dialing USSD *777#
b. Through a MobiCash Outlet/retailer if he can’t open on his own
4. Is there any form (KYC) customers need to fill up to open a GPAY Wallet?
No, there is no KYC form needed to be filled up to open a GPAY Wallet. You just dial *777#, enter a PIN and your wallet is opened.
5. What is the next step to pay bill after successful GPAY Wallet opening?
After a successful Wallet opening customers need to refill/recharge GPAY Wallet to pay bills.
6. From where can a customer refill his/her GPAY Wallet?
Customers can refill/recharge his/her GPAY Wallet by visiting
1. nearby MobiCash retail outlet
2. any Grameenphone Center
3. GPAY partner banks ( DBBL, AB Bank, IBBL)
7. Can you cash out from your GPAY Wallet?
No, you cannot cash out from your GPAY Wallet. It is a closed wallet.
8. Where do you find the GPAY app?
You can find the GPAY app in Google Playstore and install it.
9. Can you use the GPAY application without the Internet?
No, you cannot use the GPAY application without the Internet.
10. Will my GPAY Wallet account be removed if I uninstall the app?
No, your GPAY Wallet account will not be removed if you uninstall the app. You can still access GPAY wallet services through USSD menu
11. Is the GPAY app available for Android, IOS and Windows phones?
GPAY app is available for both Android users & iOS user. The app is available in App store.
12. What is BillPay?
BillPay is a simple, secured and convenient solution for customers to pay their utility bills (Electricity, Gas and Water) through mobile.
13. How is GP’s BillPay service better than the traditional system of paying bills through banks?
In traditional system customers need to wait in a long queue to pay their utility bills. But with the use of GP’s BillPay service, a customer can easily pay his/her utility bills through his/her mobile phone, anytime, anywhere.
14. Which company’s bill can be paid using GP’s BillPay service?
Using GP’s BillPay service a customer can pay bills of below mentioned utility companies –
15. What are the ways in which customers can pay their bills?
A customer can pay utility bills in two ways:
a. Through customer’s own GP mobile (GPAY Wallet)
b. Through GP authorized MobiCash retailers.
16. Can the customers pay utility bill of one area/place sitting in another area/place?
Yes. Customers can pay bills of ANY of the 13 utility companies (mentioned above) from anywhere in Bangladesh. Location does not matter for a customer to pay utility bills using GP BillPay service. Example: Customers can pay PDB bill of Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka or any other place.
17. How can a customer pay utility bill from own GPAY Wallet?
To pay bill through GPAY Wallet customers have to follow three steps. The steps are given below.
18. What is the difference between “Pay with Details” and “My Pending Bills” in GPAY Wallet menu?
When a customer pays his/her bill through GPAY Wallet selecting Pay with Details option that time he/she has to provide all necessary information such as A/C number, Bill number and bill amount.
While paying bill through GPAY Wallet for first time, a customer has to provide his/her A/C Number, Bill Number and Bill Amount. During first transaction the Meter number of customer is tied with his/her mobile number. After paying bill once the customer doesn’t have to provide all information again rather he/she can pay bill easily and quickly by selecting “My Pending Bills” option from GPAY Wallet and then the company name of which bill he/she will pay.
19. Do customers need to provide A/C Number every time they pay utility bill through GPAY Wallet?
No, customers need not to provide utility A/C number every time they pay bill through GPAY Wallet. Utility A/C number will be associated with customer’s mobile number after first bill payment.
20. Are “Meter No”, “Customer No”, “Account No”, and “Grahok Shonket No” the same thing?
Yes’ “Meter No”, “Customer No”, “Account No” and “Grahok Shonket No” all are same. But Bill No in bill copy is different.
21. Can customers check previous bill payment transaction in GPAY Wallet?
Yes, customers can check bill payment of previous five transactions in GPAY Wallet menu. They can also check the status of their current bill through USSD of *777# or SMS “BS<space>Company Code<space>Account number<space>Bill no” and send to 1200
22. Can a GPAY Wallet user transfer balance to another GPAY Wallet user?
No, a user can not send his/her GPAY Wallet balance to other user’s GPAY Wallet. The users can only send FlexiLoad to other GP mobile.
23. Whom can a GPAY Wallet user do recharge or send FlexiLoad?
A GPAY Wallet user can do recharge or send FlexiLoad to
1. Own GP Mobile, and
2. Any other GP mobile
24. Can a GPAY Wallet user send FlexiLoad to Non-GP mobile?
No, GPAY Wallet user can only send FlexiLoad to GP mobile.
25. What is Train Ticketing?
GP’s Train Ticketing service is introduced with the purpose to enable buying of train tickets from customer’s mobile phone. GP customers can book train e-tickets through his/her registered GPAY Wallet from (5 days before) Journey date till 12 hours before departure time.
26. From how many stations customers can start journey by purchasing train e-ticket through GPAY Wallet?
GP subscribers can purchase train tickets from six source stations. These are –
- Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Station
- Dhaka Airport Railway Station
- Chittagong Railway Station
- Khulna Railway Station
- Rajshahi Railway Station
- Sylhet Railway Station
27. In how many ways customers can buy train e-ticket?
Customers can buy train tickets in two ways. They can either
o Book tickets by dialing USSD *131*2# and then they can purchase within next half an hour
o Or, Directly purchase dialing USSD *131*2#
28. What is the process of booking ticket from own GP mobile phone?
Customers can simply book train tickets by dialing USSD *131*1# and following the steps. Within 30 minutes of ticket booking customers have to purchase the ticket through GPAY Wallet by dialing USSD *131*2#.
29. What is the process of direct purchase of train ticket?
Customers through his/her GPAY Wallet can directly purchase train ticket by dialing USSD *131*3# and following the steps.
30. Can Non-GP subscribers open a GPAY Wallet?
No, Non-GP subscribers can not open a GPAY Wallet in their mobile.
31. Can Non-GP subscribers pay utility bills through GP-authorized MobiCash retailer?
Yes, Non-GP subscribers can pay their utility bills through GP authorized MobiCash retailers.
32. How will a non-GP subscriber receive bill payment confirmation SMS?
Non-GP subscribers MUST have their Biller associated in order to receive a confirmation SMS.
33. What are the wallet refill options?
There are three wallet refill options for a customer to choose from:
1. MobiCash retailers
2. DBBL Account
3. AB Bank Account
34. How can I select a wallet refill option?
From the menu, select wallet refill options to choose your desired option to make your payment.
35. How can I get access to my DBBL account?
Dial *322# to get access to your DBBL account.
36. How can I get access to my account in AB Bank?
Dial *6969# to get access to your AB Bank account.
37. How long does it take to transfer fund from DBBL or AB Bank to GP Wallet?
It takes an instant to transfer funds from DBBL or AB Bank to your GPAY Wallet. However, call 1200 in case of any disruption.
38. Can I avail wallet services from *322# or *6969#?
No, you can only avail wallet services by dialing *777# or *6969#.
39. Is there any service charge for customers to open a GPAY Wallet?
No, customers don’t need to pay any service charge to open a GPAY Wallet.
40. Is there any service charge for opening GPAY Wallet through retailer?
No, customers don’t have to pay any service charge to retailers to open a GPAY Wallet through MobiCash retailer.
41. Is there any service charge for Customers for doing Cash In to his/her GPAY Wallet?
No, there is no service charge for Cash In to GPAY Wallet.
42. Is there any service charge for paying bill from GPAY Wallet
Yes. , customer have to pay a govt. approved service charge for paying bill from GPAY Wallet
43. What are the BillPay service charges for customers?
BillPay service charges of bill payment through MobiCash retailers –

44. What is the current campaign modality?
Campaign brief: Customer will get Highest 60% service charge discount on Bill payment through wallet, Bill pay amount up to 1500 tk.
Offer is available from 22 August 2017 to 20 October, 2017.

Offer is valid for wallet initiated Bill Pay only.
Customer has to cash in the bill amount with discounted service charge.
45. What is the service charge for train ticket purchased using GPAY Wallet?
Customers will have to pay BDT 20 as service charge for each seat purchased through GPAY Wallet.
46. What is an agent locator?
An agent locater helps you find the nearest MobiCash outlets.
47. How can I find the nearest MobiCash Outlet in the GPAY app?
You can use the AGENT LOCATER to find the nearest MobiCash outlets by either using GPS or LOCATION/POSTCODE
48. How to use Agent Locater in the GPAY app?
Select AGENT LOCATER from the home page. Select USING GPS or USING LOCATION/POSTCODE to find the nearest MobiCash outlets.
49. Where can you find an AGENT LOCATER using USSD?
An agent locater can be found using USSD by dialing *777# and also using the GPAY application.
50. What is the maximum balance limit to keep in a customer GPAY Wallet?
A customer can keep maximum BDT 30,000 in his GPAY Wallet.
51. Is there any minimum balance limit to keep in a customer GPAY Wallet?
No, there is no minimum balance requirement to keep in a customer GPAY Wallet.
52. What is the maximum amount for a single BillPay transaction from GPAY Wallet?
Maximum amount for a single BillPay transaction from GPAY Wallet is BDT 30,000. Also the maximum limit of daily transaction from GPAY Wallet is BDT 30,000.
53. What is the minimum amount for a single transaction from GPAY Wallet?
Minimum amount for a single transaction from GPAY Wallet is BDT 1.
54. What is the maximum limit of Cash In per day?
Maximum limit of Cash In is BDT 30,000 per day.
55. Is there any proof of bill payment through GPAY Wallet for customer’s assurance?
There are 3 layers of assurance for this
1. Yes, after bill payment through GPAY Wallet customer will receive a confirmation message (Digital Receipt) which is the proof of his/her bill payment.
2. Customers can collect a formal bill payment receipt from any GPCs anytime within 12 months from bill payment and for free.
56. Is there any proof of bill payment through MobiCash Retailer for customer’s assurance?
GP does not authorize any MobiCash retailer to give any physical proof of bill payment through them. Retailer’s seal and sign as a proof of bill payment of a customer through MobiCash retailer will not be accepted by Grameenphone or utility companies also.
The customer will get a confirmation message (Digital receipt) when they pay bill through MobiCash retailer. This confirmation message is the proof of customer’s bill payment through retailer.
Also the customers can collect bill payment receipt from GPCs anytime they want but within 12 months from bill payment and it is free.
They can also check the status of their current bill through USSD of *777# or SMS “BS<space>Company Code<space>Account number<space>Bill no” and send to 1200
57. Where do customers call for query?
GP subscribers can call 1200 for BillPay and Train Ticketing related queries and Non-GP subscribers can call to 01713-234567 to get BillPay and Train Ticketing related assistance.
58. Is GPAY Wallet secured for transaction?
GPAY Wallet is secured by a PIN number which is set by the Wallet User while opening the GPAY Wallet. During every transaction the user has to provide his/her 4-6 digits PIN number.
59. What will happen if customer forgets the PIN of GPAY Wallet?
Customer can call to 1200 hotline if he forgets the PIN. The hotline agent will verify the information and will reset the PIN for customer. Afterward customer will need to dial *777# to change the default PIN before doing any transaction.
60. What are the special criteria to set up a PIN of GPAY Wallet?
To set up a PIN customers need to follow the below criteria:
- PIN has to be minimum 4 digits & maximum 6 digits.
- Same digit cannot be repeated (Example: 1618)
- PIN cannot be a series of continuous digit (Example: 1234 or 5678)
