Thanks to all who visited our booth at the LA County /T-CEP Fair 2011. It was great to meet all of you and introduce the North Topanga Fire Safe Council to our community. And If you're coming to this website for the first time, welcome!

If you haven’t done so yet, please take our Fire Awareness Survey. Your response will help us understand the level of fire awareness in Topanga and allow us to create educational programs that address the concerns of our community. Your feedback is very important.

Our other “Take Action” item is protecting your home against flying embers. The Be Ember Prepared page explains why this is important, and has a link to a simple checklist to help you get it done. By doing so, you can reduce the risk to your home, your neighbors homes, and all of Topanga.

Many of you were interested in the information we had about the Gold Spotted Oak Borer, a new pest that is killing mature oaks in San Diego county. Our Gold Spotted Oak Borer page has links to info about this long-term threat. Our oaks are beautiful, fire-resistant trees. We must be vigilant against anything that endangers them.

We encourage you to share ntcfsc.org and our Fire Awareness Survey with your friends and neighbors. The more input we have from the community, the better we can achieve our goal of mitigating the risk of wildfire to Topanga.
