Lately, more and more elementary school students are on a waiting list for afterschool program (Gakudo) in Mishima.

The Gender Equality Office summarized the requests about Gakudo and handed them to the relevant departments of Mishima City government.

On May 7th, four members of the Mishima City Education and General Affairs Division came to NIG and exchanged information about current Gakudo with members of the NIG Gender Equality Office.

Mishima City recognizes recent problematic situations about Gakudo and is planning to fundamentally change the afterschool system in Mishima, possibly considering outsourcing. They want to hear more about requests and opinions from parents. If you have any, please send us at Gender Equality Office
