We conducted a questionnaire about elementary school closures due to bad weather, and received many answers, including requests for afterschool care (GAKUDO) and nursery schools (HOIKUSHO) in Mishima city.

The Gender Equality Office then summarized the requests to Mishima city into four items and handed them to the relevant departments.

On August 7, members of the Mishima City Education and General Affairs Division came to NIG to explain the current situation of afterschool programs (GAKUDO) in Mishima.

Since the programs began including children up to the 6th grade in 2015, there has been an increasing number of children on waiting lists. First, they want to increase the number of afterschool programs and resolve the problem of waitlisted children as soon as possible. The NIG Gender Equality Office also requested that the issue of waitlisted children be resolved as soon as possible and that the other requests presented be fulfilled.
