3. Allocation of Technical Assistants as Support for Work-life Balance

Two programs are currently available at NIG.

A. NIG Research Support Staff

This program allocates a Research Support Staff member (less than 30 working hours a week) to a NIG female faculty member who is pregnant or raising a child/children in the sixth grade or younger. See here for details (only accessible from NIG).

The NIG Diversity $ Inclusion Office highly recommends this helpful program. If you are eligible for this program, apply for it.

B. ROIS Research Support Program

The Research Organization of Information and Systems (ROIS), which NIG belongs to, has another program to allocate a research assistant to researchers who have difficulties due to life events such as pregnancy, raising children or nursing care. See this site (Japanese) for more detail.

Faculty members, post-docs, JSPS researchers and male researchers are eligible for this program under certain conditions.

Information about this ROIS program is e-mailed to all NIG members at set times annually.
