My name is Petra Kubernátová, I am 23 years old and I come from Prague, Czech Republic. From a very young age I became interested in how things work, mainly experimenting with sticking my fingers in electric outlets and seeing what would happen. When my parents saw this behaviour, they first told me off of course and then predicted that it was a sign of me being technology oriented. And apparently they weren't wrong because after I graduated high school I chose to study Computer science at the Czech Technical University in Prague, focusing on Web and multimedia. I got a bachelors degree and also some disappointment because the programme focused too much on the technical aspects and not enough on the creative aspects of the field. Mainly due to a lack of interesting study programmes in Czech Republic I started studying a masters programme focused on Web engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague but after one year I realised that this might be my last opportunity to look more into the creative side that intrigued me. And so I applied to the Media Technology programme and you know the rest.
As a result of my previous studies I am currently interested in everything about the web. From web design to web development to the now popular fields of data mining and big data and how to combine these topics with what we study in the Media Technology programme. I also have a side interest in graphic design and music.
