My biggest inspiration is Satoru Iwata, who sadly passed away in July 2015. He is most well-known for his role as the president of Nintendo, where he introduced the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii. He also started his series of "Iwata Asks", where he interviews designers about the process of creating products or games, and also discusses the more philosophical side behind the design. His open and happy personality, his idea that 'games should be fun for everyone' and his ideas shared in Iwata Asks were very inspirational to me.
While he did introduce products that could be considered very modern, he also worked on games such as Balloon Fight on NES and Kirby's Dreamland for the first Gameboy. He continued to be involved with game development, even as the President of HAL Laboratories, for various games in the well-known Pokémon series.
He's definitely a person who moved from the old to the new, and dared to take risks along the way.
