RSNA Physics Modules

Everyone should do the RSNA Physics Modules ideally you should have done these during the R1 year.

1) Fundamentals 4 modules (Do this in your first month)

2) Basic Imaging Science and Technology 6 modules (Do this in your first month)

3) Radiation Biology 2 modules (Do this prior to taking the Radiation Biology course)

4) Radiation Protection 3 modules

Fundamentals of Radiation Protection (Do this prior to taking the Nuclear rotation)

Radiation Dose and Risk (Do this prior to taking the Radiation Biology course)

Radionuclide Dosimetry and Nuclear Regulations (Do this prior to taking the Nuclear rotation)

5) Projection X-Ray Imaging 6 modules

6) Fluoroscopy 2 modules (Do this prior to or during GI/GU or VIR rotations)

7) Computed Tomography 4 modules (Do this prior to or during Body CT or Neuro rotations)

8) Ultrasound 4 modules (Do this prior to or during US rotations)

9) Magnetic Resonance 10 modules (Do this prior to or during body MR rotations)

10) Nuclear Medicine 5 modules (Do this prior to or during Nuclear rotation)

Currently there are 46 modules. I would say the content/questions would be fair game for the Core exam.

My comments are that it is difficult to determine what the correct answers are for some of the modules. (So far the MR modules I have done do tell you the correct answer at the end of the quiz.) There are no rationales for some questions that are not just factual.

I will try to address these issues on the website.
