Q: What is the appearance of a gelatinous pseudocyst? What vascular lesion can it mimic? What is the pathogenesis? What is the typical history?
A: Nonenhancing low attenuation in the basal ganglia, can resemble a lacune. Typically sequela of treated cryptococcal meningitis. Cryptococcus hides out in perivascular spaces and later develops into pseudocysts.
