~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Explanation
Every digit in a number has a place.
The first step is to figure out where the units place (also known as "ones" or "whole numbers") is. There are two ways to find this:
If there is a decimal, the units place is the digit directly left of the decimal point
If there is no decimal, the digit all the way to the right is the units place.
