Things to encourage in future:

  • Talks from people like Jakub Bijak who are from a neighbouring discipline and come to give a talk on bridging points between ABMs and their academic discipline. A good example would be Andy Tatum from geography.
  • More half-baked modelling ideas: we should feel free to talk about our work before it's fully fleshed out. People enjoy a chance to get in early and give advice on things that are in progress and thus can benefit from the input.
  • Coding tips and tricks: how to do it, how not to do it. Tales from more experienced people about moments when they realized they were doing things the long way round.
  • Later on in the year, Lewys and others are planning a session for the Complexity Student Conference: use MSS as a forum for practising talks, etc.

This chat about future priorities was followed by group discussion of the Linked Lives 2 model. See the relevant web pages for details.
