Opening discussion for the new year. A round of introductions from everyone and a discussion of what problems we are all working on. Also talked about the topics people would like to see covered in this year's meetings:

    • architectures for representing human decision making.
    • networks, network modelling, network collapse.
    • building a communal knowledge map of relevant areas, e.g., psychology. Which group members are experts on particular subject, and what do they recommend as highlights in their fields for newcomers to read?
    • standard tools for working with agents, candid opinions on the many different tools currently available.
    • visualization for agent-based models: how do we represent thousands of agents acting in a space that has both geographical and abstract dimensions.
    • game theory as a complementary approach to agent-based modelling.
    • contrast between the theory-driven and stakeholder-driven approaches.
    • tools needed for doing agent-based modelling well.
    • uncertainty and sensitivity to parameters: something we should all be doing.
    • integrating geographic information systems with agent-based modelling tools
