Trailhead: We stayed at the Capital Reef Campground and the hikes started within a mile from our site.

Notes: Hart and I like to take advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday week the years we don't have the kids. This year, we decided to head to Capital Reef NP. It was a long 10 hours to get there but it was worth it because we hardly saw a single person once we got there. We stayed in the NP and shared our campground with one other couple and several wild turkeys. This made for a very interesting Thanksgiving meal because as we dined, turkeys were running around.

We did hit quite a bit of weather and didn't see much sun at all. But, it didn't bother us because when you are hiking, you stay warm.

On our way home we stopped by Colorado National Monument which is covered in a separate log.
