Robotics - MeeperBot

Use legos to create a moving car that you control using the MeeperBot app (iOS, Android, and Amazon). You can use their BotCode to create programs for the device.

1. Learn

  • to control the Meeperbox using the MeeperBot app. First try driving it in the Command and and Tank modes. You can actually control up to 8 at one time. For more details check out Build! Code! Drive! and the How to Meeper Guide. Feel free to personalize the MeeperBot with legos.

  • to use BotCODE to control your MeeperBot

2. Do Your Challenge: Use BotCODE to have your Meeperbot navigate through a maze you set up with cups or other objects. Also try navigating through this with the controller.

3. Create a Challenge: Create a challenge using MeeperBot for your levels(s0 that could be used in a makerspace. You might want to consider incorporating more than one MeeperBot.

4. Create a curricular tie-in: With your partner, develop a idea to suggest to teachers for using MeeperBot tied to classroom curriculum. Include an objective, at least one relevant standard that could be included, a description of an activity, and considerations on it implementation (e.g., equipment needs, student skills, grouping, timeframe). You could build off the model you built or look at the additional sensors available in the kit.
