Many libraries create stations or challenge cards for their library users to engage in the makerspace resources. Some use the technologies in the makerspace while others use physical materials like cardboard, blocks, paints, paper, sticks, tape and found objectives.
For this activity you are going to select one of the activities on the Maker Mat. This is a choice board built on the work of Brooke Brown who shared Maker Mats: Creative Choice Boards for Makerspaces and Homework. in TeachersPayTeachers (https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Maker-Mats-for-Makerspaces-Distance-Learning-3077816). She created one for each month of the year along with lists of resources and handouts that can guide students through the creation process. These are similar to some of the activities being sent home right now by teachers as they manage online learning. They are activities that can be done at different levels and by groups of mixed ages and involve many of the skills we have been talking about.
