Some of you are already doing a range of maker activities in your libraries using some of the new technologies. This is your chance to describe one of them. Describe the tool you would have the students use in an introduction.
- Do Your Challenge: Describe a challenge you already gave your students to use this tool. Describe how it was used (level of students, club / lunch hour / library class, number of students, time allocated, resources used, issues).
- Create a Challenge; Create a new challenge for your students using this tool. Describe the resources available to students in addition to the tool.
- Create a curricular tie-in: Develop an idea to suggest to teachers for using your challenge or other activities using the tool tied to classroom curriculum. Think about how the challenges might be tied to one curricular area and allow students a choice of ways to explore content and demonstrate mastery.
- Include an objective, at least one relevant standard that could be included, a description of an activity, and considerations on it implementation (e.g., equipment needs, student skills, grouping, timeframe).
- Additional resources: Include at least three additional resources that you would suggest to students doing these activities. These could be links, videos or books.
