Dash and its companion Dot are robots that you can program to move, make sounds, light up, etc.
Dash can respond to voice, navigate and speak/sing.
Wonder is the programming language you will use in this class to control Dash. Locate the app on the iPad. It is also available for Android.
You can also use Blockly, Path, Xylo and go to program Dash or Dot. There are also add-on kits for Dash: Sketch, Launcher, Xylophone, Building Brick, Bulldozer Bar and Dash-ing (bunny ears and a tail)
1. Learn:
2. Do Your Challenge: Then go into Free Play and create a series of steps to make dash move, light up and speak. Make at least one action in response to clapping or another cue.
3. Create a Challenge: With your partner(s) , create a challenge using Dash that could be used in a makerspace for students at your level.
4. Create a curricular tie-in: With your partner, develop a idea to suggest to teachers for using Dash tied to classroom curriculum. Include an objective, at least one relevant standard that could be included, a description of an activity, and considerations on it implementation (e.g., equipment needs, student skills, grouping, timeframe). You could build off the model you built or look at the additional sensors available in the kit.
