WeDo allows students to build simple robots using Legos and then control them through programming. Here's a short video by kids showing how it is done and one about the project you will do.
1. Learn about WeDo by actually going through your first project and creating something. Build Milo the Science Rover. Instructions are available on the Lego site.
2. Do Your Challenge: Add the motion sensor to Milo and test it out.
3. Create a Challenge; With your partner, create a challenge that could be used in a makerspace for students at your level. You could build off the model you built or look at the additional sensors available in the kit.
4. Create a curricular tie-in: With your partner, develop a idea to suggest to teachers for using WeDo tied to classroom curriculum. Include an objective, at least one relevant standard that could be included, a description of an activity, and considerations on it implementation (e.g., equipment needs, student skills, grouping, timeframe). You could build off the model you built or look at the additional sensors available in the kit.
Make sure to take everything apart and put it back in the tray.
