Joel Gross

Joel Gross was born in Jersey City, NJ but has lived in Atlanta/Dunwoody most of his life. He joined SABR in 1991. He has seen games in old Yankee Stadium, Ebbetts Field and Ponce De Leon Park. He attended the first exhibition game ever played at Atlanta/Fulton County Stadium, as well as the first regular season game one year later. He also was in the stands when Hank Aaron became the all-time home run king. He is especially interested in baseball history up through the 1960s, the Atlanta Crackers, and Georgia born players. He recently contributed a biographical profile of Don Gross to Sweet '60: The 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates, published by the SABR Digital Library. Joel also is a big UGA fan.
