Hal Smith

Hal Smith and his wife, Kaye, live in Eastman, Georgia. Hal was a catcher for Eastman High School in the early fifties, and he played for the Eastman Weavers, a local mill team, as well. Hal graduated from Georgia Tech in 1959 and played on the Yellow Jackets' freshman team, leading the team in hitting while playing the outfield. Over the years, Hal has played a big role in the development of recreational facilities and youth recreational programs in Eastman/Dodge County. Hal himself continued to play and coach softball up until the age of 70. He is a FRIEND (contributor) to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
