Bill Ross

Bill Ross was a native of Boston, but grew up in Stone Mountain, Ga. In his professional life, Bill was an urban planning consultant; he also was an accomplished musician. He was a member of SABR's Statistical, Negro Leagues, and Minor Leagues research committees, and was a contributor to the second edition of The Negro Leagues Book. He was an active and enthusiastic member of the Magnolia Chapter. He enjoyed minor league ball games, and regularly attended contests in Greenville (SC), Chattanooga and Rome (GA). Bill passed away in January 2012 after a year-long battle with throat cancer. His friends in the Magnolia Chapter will miss him.
