Brian Morrow

Brian Morrow passed away suddenly on March 30,2022 while travelling in Turkey. He was retired from the Center for Disease Control where he worked as a statistician. Brian developed a sophisticated multivariate model that allowed him to predict the probability of a particular team winning its game on any given night. He used that information to make "investments", and the return on those investments helped to fund his frequent travel and his early retirement. He was well versed on baseball analytics, and was a regular attendee at SABR's Baseball Analytics Conferences, as well as the Southern Association Conference in Birmingham. He also was a frequent attendee at the SABR National Convention. In recent years he served as a Chapter activities co-director, planning and organizing trips to minor league baseball games and other special locations. Our collective sympathies go out to his fiancee, Ginny Robinson, and Brian's extended family.
