Instructions Many people do not know how much money they spend every week or what they spend it on. Anyone, including you, can keep track of how money is spent by using a spreadsheet. For this spreadsheet, you will calculate how much Joel spent during the past week. Joel’s expenses are as follows:
Sunday: Candy $2.50
Monday: Polo shirt $85.00
Tuesday: Monster drink $2.50, Gum $0.99
Wednesday: Chips $ 0.99, Frappuccino $4.85
Thursday: Gum $0.95
Friday: Movie $8.00, Popcorn $5.50, Soda $3.75
Saturday: Video Game $45.00
1. Open a blank workbook.
2. Format column C for currency.
3. Save the spreadsheet as S1.
4. Enter the row and column labels.
5. Adjust column A and B so all the labels fit.
6. Align column C to the right so the values and label line up better.
7. Enter the values for each expense.
8. Add the amount column by clicking on the empty cell below $45.00 and pressing the ∑ at the top to total the Amount column.
9. Go to “View” on the top menu. Then select “Header and Footer.” Place your name and assignment (S1) in a custom header’s left section.
10. Write out the answers to the questions below on this paper.
11. Print your spreadsheet.
