Help! Ms. A's gradebook is a mess!
Fix it by following these steps:
1) Copy all data EXACTLY as it appears into a spreadsheet.
2) Alphabetize the gradebook.
3) Find each student's total points by adding each row across.
4) Calculate the average score for each assignment at the bottom of each assignment column.
5) Calculate the class average just as you did for each assignment.
6) Create a column chart like the one below:
Chart Creation Steps:
1. Highlight the row that contains the class averages, but
don't include the total average or any words
2. Go to Insert>Chart
3. Choose column
4. At step 2, click on the "Series" tab
5. Where it says "Name," type "Average"
6.In the series box, click "Add"
7.Click on the button to the right of "Values" and highlight the the row
of points (orange), only include the numbers under the assignment
name, don't include the total, press ENTER
8. Type in the name above as "Total Points"
9.Where it says Category (X) axis labels, click the button at the right,
highlight the assignment names (green), press ENTER
10. At step 3, title the chart "Assignment Averages"
11. Label the X axis as "Assignment" and the Y axis as "Point Value"
12. Go to step 4 and choose "Finish"
Type your name onto the spreadsheet and print!
