Today's theme was "Always looking up." While the table topics alluded to the literal definition (kite flying, fireworks, bird watching), the Chairman playfully insisted that it really referred to the figurative meaning (optimism).

We had two fantastic speakers this morning. The first brought us back to the excitement and patriotism that arose from the 2010 Olympics. The second gave a PowerPoint presentation on mentoring from the Better Club Series. This was exciting as it would have been the first time Leading Edge used the new digital projector. Alas, none could figure out how to open the pesky video port. Still, the speaker courageously improvised with a much smaller laptop screen.

After another round of always looking up, kaizen, birthday oatmeal cookies (a long name to be sure), we adjourned the meeting yearning for more. (Cookies and each other's company, that is.)

And that's what you missed today.
