March 25, 2017 - Richmondites living longer, but lonelier

Post date: Mar 26, 2017 12:50:25 AM

The Richmond News published an article on March 17, 2017 titled, "Richmondites living longer, but lonelier". According to the article, "social connectedness remains slightly lower in Richmond than other parts of the region".

I think an excellent solution for loneliness and reducing social isolation is to join Toastmasters. It's a low commitment and an inexpensive activity that provides many opportunities for meeting new people. Leading Edge Toastmasters members only meet twice a month and pay $10 per month in membership dues. In return, we have a tight-knit social group that allows us to confide in each other.

Help reduce loneliness in Richmond by visiting our next meeting: April 14, 2017, Good Friday.
