Jean L Arnold, BSEP

Jean Arnold is a Technical Research Assistant and Senior Sleep Scorer with extensive experiences in sleep stage scoring from polysomnographic recordings and sleep research. Jean graduated from Ohio State University with degree in BSEP [Engineering Physics with technical elective Nuclear Engineering]. She has been involved in multiple sleep research project including Sleep Health Heart Study (SHHS), Study of Osteoporotic Fractures (SOF), Sleep and Asthma Cohort Study (SAC), Pediatric Sleep Apnea Study (Peds), Osteoporotic Fractures in Men (MrOS), TeenZ Sleep Study (TeenZzz), Personalized Asthma Care Team (PACT), Cleveland Children’s Sleep and Health Study (CCSHS), Childhood Adenotonsillectomy Study (CHAT), Ambulatory Sleepiness and Apnea Propensity Evaluation System (ASAP), Zolpidem-PK Study (Zpk), and others.

Jean Arnold is currently working on scoring a set of PSG recordings from 70 healthy subjects and 70 patients with insomnia to 30 sec epochs. Specifically, we identifies two types of arousals events: (i) internal arousals (“cortical arousals”) and (ii) external arousals (triggered by EMG bursts or by respiratory activation).
