Dr. Gustavo Zampier is a Permanent Professor at Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) - Brazil of Science and Technology Department. He graduated in Mathematic at Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) - Brazil, as well as graduated in physics at Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) - Brazil. He obtained his Master Degree in Physics at University of São Paulo (USP) - Brazil and Ph.D in Physics at University of São Paulo (USP) - Brazil.

Dr. Zampier is a visiting research professor at Boston University and Harvard Medical School. He has extensive experience in developing novel methods of data analysis and deriving hidden patterns from complex signals. His research focuses on complex nonlinear dynamics in Neuroscience, Self-Organized Criticality, Turbulence, spectral analysts, and fractality.

He collaborates with the Brain Institute, Department of Biophysics and Pharmacology and Department of Biomedical Engineering of UFRN, and the Plasma Physics and Nonlinear Dynamics group of UFRN. He is currently working on the analysis of sleep dynamics at Boston University and Harvard Medical School in Professor Plamen Ch. Ivanov's group.
