Dr. Kang Liu is a statistical physicist who works at the interface of computational physics, neuroscience, and physiology.

Dr. Kang Liu received his PhD of Statistical Physics from Prof. William Klein and Prof. Harvey Gould's group at Boston University in 2013. He completed a postdoc research fellowship in the Division of Sleep Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Liu was a Research Scientist in the Keck Laboratory for Network Physiology, Department of Physics at Boston University and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Neurology Department of BIDMC, Harvard Medical School from 2014-2016.

His research focuses on the understanding of complex behaviors in various physical, social and physiological systems. He specializes in theoretical statistical mechanics, computational modeling, data visualization and analysis. He also has extensive experiences in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
