This is the last piece of the series. It is titled "We"re All Tied Together Thru The Past And The Future". It is 7" long x 7" wide x 14" high. It is also the last piece I will be doing for a while. There are so many hungry mouths to feed, keep tripping over them and have trouble giving them the attention they deserve. Don't know why "Octa-mom" wants more kids. Also, my art adoption program went nowhere. Got a few bites here and there, but there are no fish or loaves of bread on the table to feed them. Maybe instead of a "Starving Artist Sale", should have a "Starving Art Sale".
This piece is representative of the many thoughts that went through my mind, while doing this series, of those whom I have met or encountered during my life. Yes, there have been the good, the bad and the ugly! Some were momentary experiences. Others were longer lasting and could almost qualify as somewhat of a relationship. Then there are the ones that were relationships, but somehow or for some reason ended. The best ones are the ones that have endured and keep aiming toward the future. Each, in its minor or major role, has had an influence on my life to date and will affect my decisions relating to how I live in the future.
One word or action by an individual can make a lasting impact, both positive and negative. Sustained involvement allows one to examine what and who they want to be. Those longer relationships test our commitment to be the actual person we strive to be. Those long lasting relationships are the ones that tell us we are doing okay and heading down the right path. They are the ones where you can be totally honest, not be hesitant in trusting and most important, be just yourself.
Hope that you have enjoyed receiving these communications and that in a simple way, that they have caused you to pause and question things in life a bit. Must say that I am a little disappointed by the reduced number of responses in regards to this latest series. Perhaps it was the subject matter or that I did not include any threats of showing up at the front door of your residence or business with a bus load of illegals/immigrant tourists seeking temporary shelter, food and bathing facilities. Maybe I'll just be devilish and surprise you at your next social event and howl like a coyote.
For those of you who are TRULY interested in receiving any updates or missives in the future, let me know by sending an email to the address below. For those of you who choose not to re-enlist in the "Crazy Croatian's Army", thanks for the memories. All of you, whose curiosity may be peaked from time to time, feel free to visit my website, also available below. And of course, if any of you may know anyone who may find my art or website of interest, please pass my information on.
Would like to thank those of you who have participated in my little venture. It has reconfirmed that there are good and caring people out there that are still approachable, even though we may be on opposite ends of the political spectrum. It is also good to know, in most cases, as I related in a previous missive, "I am not like a pair of old socks that got used and now am relegated to a dark corner in a creepy attic". The pluses in my life outnumber the minuses and I can live with that any day of the week. Look forward to keeping this little merry-go-round going. Am sure it has a lot more good and fun left in it. Best of all, in today's economic world, it doesn't cost you a cent.
As usual, give those close to you a big hug and pass some of the good you've received on to others.
