1St Annual
"Mouthy"
Awards - 2012
While going through the many entries and comments received in during earlier phases of this inaugural contest, the selection committee came up with the idea to give a special "lifetime achievement award", similar to other awards programs. They solicited a list of ten individuals from artist, JOHN MICHAEL dodig. Their objective was to identify the most qualified, living individual, who has had a most tremendous influence on Mr. Dodig's spastic and constantly in-motion lips. They sought an individual, who could not only challenge his relentless sesquepedalianism, debate him on either side of an issue, turn him back into an insomniac trying to come up with a response and, most importantly, one who had true convictions about that of which he spoke or opined. The committee poured through the names and qualifications of each of the suggested candidates, often requesting a recess to limit Mr. Dodig's never-ending stories pertaining to each. After lengthly deliberation, we selected the following "talented tongue".
The selection committee is pleased to honor Clyde "Bub" Mayhew as its first receipient of the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for being one himself who has never lacked for "words". He has set the standards high for future honorees. We laud his past and ongoing commitments and efforts.
We hope that "Bub" will display this award proudy and use it as an example, to youths and others, that "it is not what you say, but how you say it", that allows you to rise to the top. We were most impressed by a statement attributed to him that "God gave me a mouth and I plan on using it every day of my life". We salute you Clyde "Bub" Mayhew !!!!!
