1St Annual
"Mouthy"
Awards - 2012
The selection committee is honored to announce the winner of its inaugural art naming and titling "Mouthy" award for the first piece of art in this ongoing contest. That distinction goes to Scot Troter !!!!! His comments and title demonstrate, not only great observation and creativity, but also the ability to look beyond the political biases and bents within the piece. While most chose to observe the art from their personal political slant, Scot refortified the adage that "art is in the eye of the beholder". We applaud him for not being reactionary, but stepping back, taking time to really look and observe and then provide us all with a whimsical look at life. Below is Scot's comment and entry:
Obama is a pure genius. Obama is a problem solver. He has now come up with an invention that will revolutionize child rearing. It is called the "Obama Harness".
No longer will you need child seats that can harm children if not installed properly. And children cannot be 'forgotten' in the back of the car because now they are right out front so they can be watched. This invention also revolutionizes 'clean energy'. This, as yet, untapped new energy source is clean if a fecal matter filter (diaper) is installed. Now if your child says, "Mom I'm bored" simply install the Obama Harness and go for a leisurely ride through the park. This will also solve the problem of childhood obesity. Genius!
I would urge you call the piece: "Genius Problem Solver Obama".

Scot Troter
We thank you Scot for your participation and efforts. Your "Mouthy" award will be shipped to you shortly. We hope that you will display it in a prominent place and use it to encourage those young 4-H members to get involved, do the best you can and never think that it is impossible to be a winner.
The next call for entries for commenting on and naming the the second piece of art in this "Mouthy" contest will be sent out Wednesday (9/5/12). The deadline for entries shall be by the end of the day on Friday (9/14/12). We are trying to coordinate this with the upcoming election. Some may cheer and some may cry, however the most important thing is that we had an opportunity to participate without others influences. All may not agree with the outcome, but hopefully all will have the decency to sit down and break bread with one another.
Thank all of you that have participated. Remember, this is more about you than anything else. When you don't open your mouth and opine your real feelings, you get negated by those who have only their personal interest at heart. You become just a mute and are non-consequential. Don't let your children become mutes, but rather teach them that it is important to follow your example and speak up for their feelings and beliefs.
