Most of you are aware that the early months of this year, were not very good for me. I lost three very close friends within a matter of a few weeks. One was in his 80's and the other two were both born in December of 1946, a week apart, and both passed on in February 2012, a week apart. Am still reeling from it all. However, as I usually do, when confronted with taxing situations, I crawl back upon to the "artistic psychological couch" and try to sort things out. The remembrances, recollections and reflections have prodded me into doing a new series of art, which is titled "Left To Tell The Tales And Truth". Don't know how many pieces it will include, but, as usual, I will be sending each new piece, upon completion, to those of you on my email list and at the end will do a video of the whole series for my website and YouTube. For you new recipients, I normally include a missive pertaining to the individual piece being presented. Due to the personal and emotional nature of these pieces, I will not be including the usual Crazy Croatian's diatribe. What I would hope that all of you would do, is to send me your comments, good or bad, in regards to these pieces. I am sure that they will help, not only me, but others affected by these losses, in that they may find possibly a more rapid relief. At the end of this message, you will find my email address and my website, to not only communicate with me, but find out more about me personally and my art. I urge you to pass on what you see to others. Again, not for my sake, but the actuality, that we will all face such unwanted moments in our lives. Perhaps, in my strange way of thinking, it will help others abate their grief and pain more quickly.
All three of these individuals were totally different people. However, they all shared the same attributes of being teachers, great story-tellers and individuals that always supported you and covered your back. One could not ask for greater friends. You didn't have to ask for the truth, you got it whether you wanted to hear it or not. They never told you how to live your life, but made you aware of the consequences if you did A or B. Regardless of their age, they could communicate and associate with anyone from 1 to 90. Each in his own was highly accomplished and always tried to pass on their knowledge and experience so that others could attain their aims, objectives and goals in life. Selfishness they abhorred. Getting the most out of the moment, and out of one's life, they reveled in. I am truly thankful and feel blessed to have had them in my life.
This first new piece is titled "The Hall Of Fame Of The Very Special". It is 7" long x 7" wide x 4" high. We all know them as the most important people in our lives. We should all be historians and tell their stories so they can be passed on into the future. They were never on a Beverly Hill's A-List, talked about on ESPN for weeks or made it on to the Fortune 500 billionaires top 25. They are the ones that inspired us, gave us the courage to go on and gave us their shoulder to weep on when we faced frustration. When you tried to thank them for their help and assistance, they always responded by saying, "I only gave options, you did all the work. Now get out there and have a good time celebrating your win, but remember tomorrow is a new day and the battle starts again". Without their likes, this would be even more of a chaotic world. We all know one or more of them and before you don't have a chance, you should get in touch with them and give a big thankful hug. Don't put off til tomorrow, what you have time to do today.
Look forward to hearing from you.
