The change I made was the young girl standing by Pete Michaelson. I thought it was his daughter but after reading his obituary I find that it was his granddaughter. I was a young boy when Pete died and since Florence lived with them I assumed it was his daughter.

A little more information on the group Picture.

From Row. the Hans is Hans Michaelson a brother of Pete, John and Margaretha.

Middle Row. Next to August Hansen is M. J. Petersen husband of Anna Petersen and the son of Mary Petersen that is shown behind the lady in the white dress. M. J. stands for Modus Joseph but was only known as M.J. M. J. and Anna are my grandparents on my mothers side.

The short Frieda Hansen is the wife of Carsten (Curly) Hansen. We always called her little Frieda. Next to her is Anna Petersen my grandmother. Behind Anna Petersen where you see only a small face is Ruth Petersen wife of Carsten Petersen. I did not have her identified previously. Carsten Petersen is the son of M. J. and Anna Petersen and lived next door farm to the John Michaelson farm.

The other Frieda Hansen that stands behind little Frieda is the wife of August Hansen. We always called her big Frieda as at family gatherings they knew who they were addressing. The two Frieda's were sister in laws.

There were two Hansen Families in our family gatherings. August Hansen and my grandmother Schnoor was from one Hansen Family. They had many sisters in Nebraska but most settled in Omaha.

The Other being the Carsten Hansen family that many settled in the Tilden, Neligh, Nebraska area.

I hope this gives you a little more information. I hope I am not giving you more than you want.

Greg Endecott gave me another copy of this photo in March of 2012.

Because this photo has been submitted by 3 different family members,

it could be important for identifying many of our ancestors.

About the family Michaelsen.

The Father and Mother of Christine, Margarethe,

Anna, Hans, Peter, Johann.

Peter Hinrich Michaelsen born 17.06.1825 in

Curburg ( Kurburg near Dannewerk )

died 12.08.188 Eggebek

Elsabe Michaelsen born Schoof 02.08.1831 Eggebek,

died 22.04.1880 in Eggebek.

Based on the information of a homeland book:

In 1885 the son of Peter Michaelsen, Jürgen

Hinrich Michaelsen took over the farm from his

father.

So I think that Jürgen Michaelsen is the first

born male child, and the brother of Christine,

Margarethe, Hans…..
