Nr. 8 and 9 are my great-great-Grandparents and your Ancestors too!
My Great-Grandfather was Thomas Hansen 1815-1888 in Oster-Ohrstedt and his brother was Hans Hansen born two years later in 1817 in Oster-Ohrstedt, he was the father of Carsten Hansen 1858-1935, who married 1884 Margaretha Christine Michaelsen,Eggebek and Johannes or John Peter 1888-1976 was their second child as you know.
The ancestor-list (Vorfahren von Hansen John Peter.doc) works as follows: Nr. 1 is always the subject (me!). Thant he father is dobble 1 means 2 and the mother 2 (always)plus 1, also 3! So my grandfather is Nr. 4, my grandmother Nr. 5. And that means my great-grandfather –fatherside- to be 4 and great-great-grandfather Nr. 8 (Carsten Hansen)and so on.
So, when you make your list, you start always with Nr. 1!
I’m living in Flensburg, it is not far away from Oster-Ohrstedt and sometimes I’ve been there and spezial for many hours in Schwesing, the parish were Oster-Ohrstedt belongs to. The church-records are burned in 1739! So it is very difficult to find some informations from times before.
Kind regards and best wishes to you
Yours Helmut Hansen
