Here they once started to build the wall that should guard the hole city, but it never became anything else than this huge fortress to guard the city from the sea. It has very high walls (150 feet from the sealevel) but it doesn't raise itself very high over Semcap. But you can of course see very well in any direction. When the wall never was built this fortress has worked as a guard for the town and there has always been very many men inside it guarding the city. Normally there are a few hundred living here and one hundred of them is on guard ready-to guard. Because of this huge force there has been very few attacks on the city and from the sea it is nearly impossible to attack without massive losses. This depends on that they have almost fifty old, but working arbalests permanently mounted in the two top floors openings. With these weapons they can guard reach the city with the bolts and all of the guards in the fortress are taught in 'arbalestry'. The council has always been afraid of that the forces of the fortress shall terrorise the city and take over it so they always has their own man in charge of the force here, which is called the Kalkyrier and the men are called the Kalkyriers. There are one 5´X5´ tunnel from the fortress to the tower on the other side of the bay (see 72 ).
