DESCRIPTION:
Located far to the south, Mr Frax Franx has his illegal business. Secret in an unclean weaponstore he has made a gladiatorarena. Every other night local men and women fight in the arena. There are five different types of fighting and each one of them has its own special day of the week. First day in week they fight with heavy poles which is unwieldable for the weak and untrained. This fightingstyle is very strange and noone has beaten the great man from the west, Harn Wock a large lethysian that has the polefighting as his job. Of course it is possible to bet, but if you should bet on him you should only get the money back. Third day in week there is mudfighting and many local people usually want to join the game. There are no prizes but they can bet on themselves and they do. In the mudwrestling there is no outstanding winner as in the polefighting. but the shieldsmasher specialist Medran usually wins when he decides to join the game. The fifth day of the week there is the most dangerous of the arenafighting here, with greatswords. These swords are both long and heavy (25 pounds) and when they hit each other they do a lot of damage. You are only allowed to use the swords that Mr Frax Franx gives to you. The outstanding winner here is a woman who wields one of these swords in each hand, parrying with one of them and hitting with the other she usually win after half a minute. The people here know that she is not from Lethys or Rhakhaan, but they don't know from where she is (talath). Her name is Lora Mâ and she is about seven and a half feet tall and muscular built. The seventh day of the week they fight with heavy shields. One in each hand they fight with these shields and it often end with one of the fighters falling to the ground totally exhausted (you have to know the technique to use two wall shields without falling back yourself). These fights can last for an hour and in the end the fighters are fighting with only one shield. Lora Mâ, Medran Lind and Harn Wock are the best in this game but this fighting is depending on very much luck so that any of the men here who can hold two fullshields can win. This is the most popular betting game because of this. The ninth day of the week there is freefighting. This is the most popular fighting and there are no outstanding winner here as the big names from the other fightingforms they do not fight this (it is classified as lowleveled and it is for the local men). The nights when there is no fighting the locals train in the arena and this is nearly as popular as the competition days. There are a few set-up fighting's but Mr Frax kick them out if he sees one of the fighters not fighting with his full skill (and he knows the fighters). The entrance is one cupper and all bettings are arranged by Frax with one cupper as the lowest bet and 10 gold as the highest. The offdays entrance is one cupper if you are going to train and free for others. There is room for 300 spectators even if it is very rare that there are that many, but usually there are from fifty to one hundred people here every competiotionnight .and around forty the offnights. Normally there are accidents and people die here of course, but Frax keep the numbers low because he is a layhealer of good rank. This is probably the thing that have kept this arena surviving the fifty years it has been open. Frax tries to heal the fighters, but always in another room so that the spectators wont know he is what he is. The guard in town know about this place but don't interfere with Frax´s business because of the trained fighters here and his Fraxguards, three muscular men with knightsarmour and magically enchanted two-handed swords. The guard think that they can destroy the arena but they have to offer to much blood and it is no reason for that. The Fraxguards keep the arena from unnecessary fighting and stealing among the spectators.
