Hadith 145: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his Family would spend consecutive nights extremely hungry and would not find anything to eat for supper. The most common form of bread they would eat was barley bread
from this hadis we learn the magnified rank, ennobled character and unmatched dignity of Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He was cautious and did notallow anyone to realise that he or his Family spent nights in extreme hunger. how do we know this for certain ? if the Companions had the slightest hint that he or his Family were hungry , they ould have competed to give up everything they possessed to fulfill his needs and grant him ease .He was more beloved to them than their families , their children and their own selves.Hadith 141 : The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would eat with his three blessed fingers and lick them
the Prophet ﷺ would eat with his three blessed fingers in most cases, but would use more when a particular food necessitated it. The manner of eating is left to ones discreation based upon what type of food is served and how it is normally eaten Chapter 24 : What has Been Narrated Concerning the manner in which the Messenger of Allahﷺ ate FoodHadith 71 : "We were with Abu Hurayra and he was wearing two linen garments dyed in red clay ( Mumash-shaq) . he blew his nose in one of them and then exclaimed 'Bakh, bakh!' Abu Hurayra now blows his nose with linen, yet by Allah, there was time when I would fall unconscious between the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Aisha's رضی اللہ عنھا chambers , such that a person would come and place his foot on my neck, I was thought to be insane but I wasn't . It was just because of hunger ! "
Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Kathir and others recorded that a Meccan man named Rukana was very strong and skilled in wrestling. people would come from great distances to challenge him, yet he would defeat them all.
One day, as Rukana was in the mountain ravines of Mecca, he encountered The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وصحبه وسلم
who said to him , 'O Rukana! Why do you not fear Allah and accept that to which I invite you?'
Rukana said , 'Muhammad, is there a corroborating proof that will show that you are truthful ?'
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وصحبه وسلم said, ' What if I throw you down -- will you believe in Allah and His Messenger ?'
Rukana replied ' I will Muhammad!'
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وصحبه وسلم said 'Ready yourself for a wrestling match.'
Rukana responded, 'I am ready.'
The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وصحبه وسلم then neared Rukana deftly got hold of him and threw to the ground.
Shocked, Rukana asked The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وصحبه وسلم to absolve him of his agreement [ to believe in Allah and his Messenger if defeated ] and asked for a rematch.
They had a second rematch,
and then a third;
Rukana was thrown down each time, After the third defeat, Rukana stood up and said, ' You are amazing!'
