Waseela / Tawassul

Be aware that the foundation of religion and that which salvation is dependent on , is to testify on every single verse of the Holy Quran .

The majority of misled went astray because of accepting some verses while rejecting others a few examples of such groups

The Qadriyyah Sect : this sect believes that the human y itself is the creator of its actions and not by the Control of Allah azzawajal. They bring emaan on this ayah :

... and we did not opress them, but it is they who wronged themselves
- Surah An Nahal verse no 118

but they reject this Ayah

Whereas Allah has created you and your actions
Surah As Safaat verse 96

Waseela is an Islamic religious practice which is to offer supplication to Allah through an intermediary.

If any one asks from deceased and he believes that the person independently possess the power to provide or to solve his problem then this indeed would be SHIRK SO hence forth when you read about Ambiyas / Auliyas anywhere . IT MEANS what ever they do is through the powers gifted /blessed to them by ALLAH

for the very reason they are Rasool of ALLAH hence RASOOL ALLAH

and they are AULIYAS of ALLAH hence we refer to them as Auliya ALLAH (generally Auliys is written)

THE BELIEF :

There are many Forms of Waseela

1. It is the belief of the Ahl-as-Sunnah that it is permissible to supplicate to Allah with the Tawasul of good deeds or Allahs Names .

2. It is permitted to supplicate with the Tawasul of a living pious person

and

3. it is also permitted to supplicate with the Tawassul of the deceased pious person.

we will be speaking on later 2

What we will be reading henceforth inshallah that

1. Waseela was practiced before the prophet ( peace be upon him )

2. Waseela was practiced in the lifetime of the prophet (peace be upon him )

3. Waseela was practiced After the worldly life of Prophet( peace be upon him )

4. Waseela through pious people

Post #2 :

TO THOSE who Object waseela that We should ASK ALLAH DIRECTLY no waseela no intermediary

ONLY ALLAH excludes every thing SO there should be an explicit NO in Quran .. so lets see what we do read in quran

O you who Believe! Do your duties to Allah and fear Him seek the means of approach unto him, and strive (with might and main) in His cause so that you may prosper.
(Surah Mai’dah verse 35, Surah 5)

In this verse of Holy Quran the word Waseela has been used in a general format, NO FILTER CRITERIA . it has not prescribed a certain form of waseela neither has it prohibited any other form of waseela .

And HOW DO Mufassir explain this AYAT

Imam Ibn Kathir (rahmatullahitalaaly) on Tawassul on above Ayah:

Translation: Many (Ulemas)have stated this tradition. One of them is Abu Mansur Sabbagh who writes in his book Al-Hikayat-ul-mashhurah that, according to ‘Utbi, once he was sitting beside the Prophet’s grave when a bedouin came and he said, “Peace be on you, O Allah’s Messenger. I have heard that Allah says: ‘(O beloved!) And if they had come to you, when they had wronged their souls, and asked forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger also had asked forgiveness for them, they (on the basis of this means and intercession) would have surely found Allah the Granter of repentance, extremely Merciful.’ I have come to you, asking forgiveness for my sins and I make you as my intermediary before my Lord and I have come to you for this purpose.”

Then he recited these verses: “O, the most exalted among the buried people who improved the worth of the plains and the hillocks! May I sacrifice my life for this grave which is made radiant by you, (the Prophet,) the one who is (an embodiment) of mercy and forgiveness.”

Then the bedouin went away and I fell asleep. In my dream I saw the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). He said to me: O ‘Utbi, the bedouin is right, go and give him the good news that Allah has forgiven his sins.

The Above was evidence of Belief and Practice of Sahaba Raziallhutalajmaeen from Quran and its Tafsir and Hadis

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim writes that the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant Him peace] said,

A time will come when the non-believers will fight the Muslims. It will be asked, Is there anyone in the army who has seen the Prophet?

They will reply yes and will win the war.

Another time will come when there will be another war with the kafirs and the Muslims and a question will be asked, have you anyone in the army who has seen the companions of the Prophet?

They will reply yes and will win the war.

Another time will come and a question will be asked, Is there anyone in the army who has seen the person who has seen the companions’ companions? They will reply yes, and will win the war.

Bukhari chapter on Jihad and Muslim chapter on Fada’il Sahaba]

Ibn Hajar Asqalani writes that these three wars will be won by the Muslims with the waseela of the Sahabah, tabi’ee and taba tabi’ee.

This hadith is also verified by another hadith, where Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant Him peace] said: “My time is the best, then the companions time is the best, then the people who have seen the companions’ companions time is the best.

[Fathul Bari chap on Jihad]

Hafidhh Ibn Kathir writes, that the Prophet said that seven people will always remain in my Ummah, and with their waseela, Allah will provide rain, help, and food for the Ummah.

Another hadith states that the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant Him peace] said that thirty abdaal (saints) will always stay in my Ummah, and with their waseela, Allah Almighty will provide rain, help and food. Qattadah says, Hasan al Basri was one of them.

(Tafsir ibn Kathir Surah Al-Baqarah under Verse 252).

'The Book of Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat)' of Sahih Muslim.
Mu'awiya said: Be cautious about ahadith except those which were current during the reign of Umar, for he exhorted people to fear Allah, the Exalted and majestic. I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying: He upon whom Allah intends to bestow goodness, He confers upon him an insight in religion; and I heard the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) as saying: I am the treasurer. To one whom I give out of (my own) sweet will, he would be blessed in that, but he whom I give (yielding to his constant begging and for his covetousness is like one who would eat, but would not be satisfied.

This Hadis proves Prophet peace be upon him distributes

Abu Dawud Book 002, Hadith Number 1315.

Chapter : The time when the prophet peace be upon him used to get up at night for prayer.

Narated By Rabi'ah b, Ka'b al-Aslami : I used to live with the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) at night; I would bring water for his ablution and his need.
He said: Ask me.
I said: Your company is in Paradise.
He said: Is there anything other than that?
I said: It is only that.
He said: Help me for yourself by making prostration abundantly.

This hadis proves from prophet peace be upon him himself who says ASK ME

and Sahabi Rasoolsallahoalihiwasallam ASKS for Companionship in PARADISE

which means Jannat with Companionship 2 things!!! asked TO Prophet peace be upon him ....

Before worldly life of Prophet peace be upon him

[Baqarah 2:89] And when the Book from Allah (the Holy Qur'an) came to them, which confirms the Book in their possession (the Taurat / Torah) - and before that they used to seek victory through the medium of this very Prophet (Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) over the disbelievers; so when the one whom they fully recognised (the Holy Prophet) came to them, they turned disbelievers - therefore Allah’s curse is upon the disbelievers.

Imam Tabari,

Hafidhh Ibn ul Qayyum al Jawzi,

Hafidhh Ibn Kathir

and Qadi Shawkani

write that before the birth of the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace), the Jews would make the Prophet, Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, a Waseela in their supplications, when asking Allah to defeat their enemies in battle.

(Tafsir Ibn Jareer, Tafsir Ibn Kathir & Tafsir Fath ul Qadeer Shawkaani. Ibn Qayyum. Under, verse Baqarah 89 and Hadaya-tul-Hayara page 95 by Hafidhh Ibn Qayyum al Jawzi).

Someone may object to this by saying that this was an act of the Jews, hence it cannot be used as evidence for Muslims. However, Allah has mentioned this event in the Qur'an and did not condemn this, therefore this demonstrates that if it were impermissible the Holy Qur'an would not have mentioned it, nor left it unremanded

Imam Dārimī relates from Abū al-Jawzā’ Aws bin ‘Abdullāh:

The people of Medina were in the grip of a severe famine. They complained to ‘Ā’ishah (about their terrible condition). She (ayesha razialhutalanha) told them to go towards the Prophet’s grave and open a window in the direction of the sky so that there is no curtain between the sky and the grave. The narrator says they did so. Then it started raining heavily; even the lush green grass sprang up (everywhere) and the camels had grown so fat (it seemed) they would burst out due to the over piling of blubber. So the year was named as the year of greenery and plenty.

The following narration explains the status

of the Awliya:

Hadrat Umar (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) said:
“I heard the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) saying
that there will be certain worshippers of Allah who will not be Prophets, nor martyrs, but the Prophets and martyrs will envy them on the Day of Judgement.
The Companions then asked, “O Prophet of Allah, who are these people?”

Then the Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) explained to them the qualities of the Awliya. The Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala

Alayhi wa Sallam) read to them the verse:

Beware, verily on the friends of Allah, there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(Surah Yunus, Verse 62)

In Bukhari Shareef, Hadrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) reports

the following Hadith-e-Quddsi:

The Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said that Allah said, “Whoever shows enmity to a friend of mine, I shall be at war with him.

Who has the courage to be at war with Allah?

Certainly, they will be destroyed! Therefore, it is important that the Awliya should be respected and honored. Whoever disrespects, and insults the Awliya, will without a

doubt, receive Allah’s wrath.

The Awliya's Provision of Help beyond Human Capability

The Prophet Sulaiman, peace be upon him, asked his companions who could bring the throne of the Queen of Sheba to his court.

Allah says, describing this in the Qur'an al-Kareem:

An ifreet of the jinn said, 'I will bring it to you before you get up from your seat. I am strong and trustworthy enough to do it.'He who had knowledge of the Book said, 'I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you.' And when he saw it standing firmly in his presence, he said, 'This is part of my Lord's favour to me to test me to see if I will give thanks or show ingratitude'.
[Surah Al-Naml, verse 39-40]

Hafidh Ibn Kathir writes concerning this verse that the man who brought the throne was called Asif bin Barkhiyah. he was a Wali in the time of Sulaiman Alihissalam

SO IF WALI of SULAIMAN ALIHISSALAM can get a throne from a far distance in a glance

What would then be the reach of Wali of Prophet peace be upon him and those who have Knowledge of QURAN !!!

[Yusuf 12:93] "Take along this shirt of mine and lay it on my father’s face, his vision will be restored; and bring your entire household to me." (Prophet Yusuf knew that this would miracle would occur.)

TO regain the Sight of his FATHER who himself was a NABI , why was SHIRT of YOUSUF Alihissalam send ?

BOTH are NABI ..

are they not AWARE HOW CLOSE ALLAH IS ???

When the bearer of glad tidings arrived, he laid the shirt on the face of Ya‘qūb and his sight returned immediately (Qur’ān Yūsuf 12:96)

In light of Hadith

Abdullah. the freed slave of Asma' (the daughter of Abu Bakr). the maternal uncle of the son of 'Ata, reported: Asma' sent me to 'Abdullah b. 'Umar saying: The news has reached me that you prohibit the use of three things: the striped robe. saddle cloth made of red silk. and the fasting in the holy month of Rajab. 'Abdullah said to me: So far as what you say about fasting in the month of Rajab, how about one who observes continuous fasting? -and so far as what you say about the striped garment, I heard Umar b. Khatab say that he had heard from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him): He who wears silk garment has no share for him (in the Hereafter), and I am afraid it may not be that striped garment; and so far as the red saddle clotb is concerned that is the saddle cloth of Abdullah and it is red. I went back to Asma' and informed her. whereupon she said: Here is the cloak of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). and she brought out to me that cloak made of Persian cloth with a hem of brocade, and its sleeves bordered with brocade and said: This was Allah's Messenger's cloak with 'A'isha until she died, and when she died. I got possession of it. The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to wear that, and "WE WASHED IT FOR THE SICK AND SOUGHT CURE THEREBY"

Allah's Messenger Peace be upon him said: who ever visits my grave after my death it is same he has visited me in my life.

Tabrani Volume 012: Hadith Number 406
Bayhaqi Shu'ab ul Iman Volume 003: Hadith Number 489
It is narrated by Anas bin Malik. He said: When the mother of ‘Ali bin Abu Talib — Fatimah bint Asad bin Hashim — died, Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) called on her and sat down by the head of the bed and said, “O dear mother, may Allah have mercy on you. After my mother, you were the one I regarded as my mother. When I was hungry you fed me to the point of saturation while you yourself remained hungry. Then you helped me put on clothes and instead of eating yourself, you gave me nice things to eat. You did all this for Allah’s pleasure and for a good reward in the Hereafter.” Then he (the Prophet) commanded to bathe her three times. When camphor water was brought, Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) poured some water into his hands. Then Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) took off his shirt and clothed her with it and used his own sheet of cloth as her coffin. Then Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) sent for Usamah bin Zayd, Abu Ayyub al-Ansari and ‘Umar bin al-Khattab and the negro slave to dig up the grave. So they dug her grave. When they reached near the lahd, Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) dug it up and drew the soil out with his own hands. When he finished, Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) entered and lay down in (the grave), and said, “It is Allah Who controls life and death, and He is Ever living and will never die. (O Allah,) forgive my mother—Fatimah bint Asad— and help her answer properly at the time of questioning and through the mediation of Your Prophet (Muhammad) and the former prophets, make her grave capacious. Surely You are infinitely Merciful.” Then he repeated, “God is Great” four times (i.e. led the funeral prayer). Then he, ‘Abbas and Abu Bakr as-Siddiq lowered her into the grave.

Read this HADIS ... DUA WAS BEING MADE BY The Prophet peace be upon him and Still he used Waseela of Former Prophets Peace be upon them

What was the need of LAYING down of having Nisbat hence waseela was of no importance sat down by the head of the bed and said, “O dear mother,.....

Said to who ?

Prophets peace be upon him is talking to mother of ‘Ali bin Abu Talib — Fatimah bint Asad bin Hashim after she died..

Imam Ibn Hajr al Haythami (rahmatullhitalaaly ) wrote a "WHOLE BOOK" on virtues of visiting the grave of Prophet (Peace be upon him) in it he writes:

Amongst the evil deeds of Ibn Taymiyyah, something which nobody before him in this world proclaimed is his rejection of Istighatha (Beseeching for help) and Tawassul through Prophet (salalallaho alaihi wasalam). This Tawassul through Prophet (salallaho alaihi wassalam) is Hassan (fair) in all conditions whether before his creation (i.e. him being sent to the world), after it (i.e. his death), also in this world and on Day of Judgment.
