Associates to the Peerage
If you choose to, and if you are chosen by a member of one of the Orders, you may follow the path of an Order yourself. There are 3 different orders within our kingdom. You can identify these by their belt colors you will see them wearing:
Chivalry -- the peer is called a Knight. His or her student is called a Squire.
Only Knights may wear white belts. Also, only they can wear unadorned gold chains around their neck. This is a Society standard!
Only Squires should wear red belts. Also, only they should wear unadorned silver chains around their neck.
The fighters' structure provides a crucial framework for our society as we know it. It is also the way through which we remember the chivalry and honor which makes the times what they are.

Laurel -- the peer is called a Laurel. His or her student is called an Apprentice.
Laurels wear the laurel leaves as a symbol, and their apprentices wear green belts. The green in the belt represents the significance in association to the Laurel green leaves.
A green belt is not reserved, meaning you could wear one and not break the Kingdom's Sumptuary laws, but it is respectful to the order to avoid wearing one unless you are a student of this order.
These are artisans who enjoy the studies of Arts & Sciences. This is important because the SCA is a non-profit organization, powered by the learning and sharing of information and knowledge, and through A&S is how this is brought about.

Pelican -- the peer is called a Pelican. His or her student is called a Protege.
Pelicans wear the pelican as a symbol, and their proteges wear yellow belts. The color was selected because it is easy to spot in a mob.
A yellow belts is not reserved, but it is respectful to the order to avoid wearing one unless you are a part of this order.
These are members who enjoy fulfilling services where needed. Without service, an event cannot function, nor can a group; nor can a kingdom! If you need help with something, you can find a yellow belt and surely be given the right assistance or direction towards assistance that you need.
Order of the Rose is another Kingdom order. This order is composed of former Royal Consorts. They do not have a special title but they do have the right to bear the badge of the order.
