Becoming a Member

Why register with the SCA?

Do not feel that you must register just to come and try out the SCA! Coming to meetings, practices and workshops is always FREE!

There are many things you can do still even without becoming a member:

• • Attend meetings

  • Attend fighter practices

  • Attend demos

  • Register your Persona name and Heraldic device (and badge, if you want one) - with an additional $5 non-member surcharge per submission item

  • Attend events - with an additional $5 non-member surcharge per event

  • Receive Baronial awards (with one exception, highest service level)

While you do not HAVE to pay and become a card-carrying member of the society, membership in the SCA does have numerous benefits that you may enjoy once you've decided that this whole SCA thing is for you. These include:

• • The ability to receive Kingdom-level awards, and the highest Baronial service level award

  • The ability to hold offices, both in at the Barony and the Kingdom level

  • The ability to compete in Crown Tournaments

  • Discounted event entry fees - the $5 surcharge no longer applies

  • Sustaining and International members receive their kingdom's newsletter, and can subscribe to additional publications.
