Awards

Have you ever wondered what awards are, and why we have them? Both the Kingdom and the Barony will present awards to members to recognize jobs well done. This helps to encourage members to keep doing what they're doing good!

Just because someone hasn't gotten an award doesn't always mean they haven't done something good, though! How is it known that these awards should be given? Well, letters of recommendation can be written to those with the pointy hats to let them know. Sometimes if no one thinks to tell it, it can get overlooked, so don't feel shy to nominate someone if you see them doing something right. Doing something right....what does this mean? Well, by that I just mean "playing the game," really. Do what you do, and do it well, I always say! Help out your group, be active in a particular activity, etc.

There are many different awards. Some of them are awarded at the Kingdom level, but not all of them are. Some of them are awarded by our Baron and Baroness.

There are two special Baronial awards which get voted upon by current members each year so you don't have to recommend anyone for those, except when it is time for the annual vote, of course - and that's the Chivalrous Dove or Oread baronial awards. These get awarded annually, at Black Axe typically.

Awards are given out during Court, so stick around at the end of an event to see what happens! It is always exciting to see who has gotten which awards, too. You will notice that there is a certain protocol to use when approaching Their Royal Majesties in court. Your Chatelaine can give you information about this.
