About Me

Hello. My name is Frank Ha. I am a sociology instructor at Cuesta College, a community college in San Luis Obispo, California. I teach Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, and Race and Ethnic Relations. I have been teaching here since 2001. Before that I was a graduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I received my Ph.D. in sociology there in 2000. This is actually my second career. I used to be an engineer. I studied mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where I received my B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1987. I worked for about a year before deciding I wanted to do something else. I took some classes at California State University at Fullerton in 1989-1990, and that is where I discovered sociology. I married in 1997 and live with my wife, son and daughter in Arroyo Grande. My hobbies include tennis and online shopping.
