Deposit Saving is called Spaardeposito in Dutch. On a Deposit Saving the money remains in the Deposit Saving account for the interest and the time specified before opening the Deposit Saving Account. Usually the interest rate on a Deposit Saving account is more than on a normal saving account and goes up when the predetermined amount of years set in advance goes up. Most of the time the interest on a Deposit Saving is less than the interest on investments, but Deposit Savings are protected till 100.000,- euro if put on a Deposit Saving account of a bank that is in the ‘depositogarantiestelsel’ (deposit guarantee scheme). This means that if the bank where I have a Deposit Saving goes bankrupt and is registered in the ‘depositogarantiestelsel’ I will get my money back till 100.000 euros. The lowest amount to start a Deposit Saving depends from bank to bank and starts with amounts between 500,- – 1.000,- euro per Deposit Saving Account.
I have had both in the past and I am determined to have both again now that I am debt free. My only debt I had from September 1997 till September 2024 was my student debt. I am happy that my student debt is gone and I can start to build my wealth. In my portofolio of wealth there will be normal saving accounts, Deposit Saving accounts, Investments and a healthy life. The interest on Deposit Savings are higher than money in a normal savings account. And there is another plus the money in the Deposit Saving account can't be spend easy, because it is stipulated in advance when the money in the Deposit Saving will fall free. If I set the money in a Deposit Saving Account for 3 years I get my money back after 3 years. Usually the interest amount will fall free each year, when the interest is added.
